Small town gossip, truths, half
truths and plain ole lies. No matter, its all the
same to the teller.
Gossip informs us of our
surroundings, gives us a sense of security because
of the knowing. With gossip, we all have our
opportunity to be the receiver, giver or subject of
the matter at hand - nobody escapes the chance for
all three - so be gentle with your information.
In having said all that - this is
a place gossip can be validated, canceled or just
said. If you have a comment, please

Sedona Film Festival

The
Sedona Film Festival starts next weekend,
February 27 to March 2, 2008. Our very own Katie Lee
will have a film called "Love Song to Glen Canyon".
This is a short documentary depicting Katie's ten
magical years running the Glen before the dam was
erected in 1963. There will be 140 unpublished
photos set to Katie's narrative and music.
ML Lincoln also has a documentary
short called "Drowning River" It also features Katie
Lee and captures the spirit of Katie and Glen Canyon
showing a story of a drowned paradise. It features
interviews with Katie Lee and Chuck Bowden with
footage of David Brower's from Glen Canyon,
including Edward Abbey's famous speech from the top
of Glen Canyon Dam.
Leigh Hay-Martin, who owns
Designs On You, was chosen to be one of the
screeners for the Sedona Film Festival and had the
happy task of screening many, many movies. She said
it was fun and looks forward to being at the
festival next week!
Jerome Movie Coming To Sedona
I just received an email from Amy
Waddell, her movie The Brothel, filmed in
Jerome, will be at the Sedona Film Festival this
year. According to a website
promoting the film - "The Brothel" is a ghost
story about a woman who becomes the mistress of
death in an attempt to stay close to one she has
lost to death. When she realizes she is losing this
game, she runs away from her life in the city. You
can also see a clip of the movie at the
Brothel website.
I look forward to watching the
film. Amy grew up in the Verde Valley, her parents
are artists in the area.
English Kitchen To Close
It
is true, the English Kitchen, one of Jerome's oldest
existing restaurants is subject to close. It has
been said that the owner of the property, who is not
the owner of the restaurant, has decided not to
reinstate the lease. We are all sad to hear of this
news as the EK was one of the most affordable places
locals could go and grab a hamburger or breakfast,
plus the views from the deck were one of most
enjoyable.
Christy Opening New Store

Christy Fisher, owner of the Fool
on the Hill is opening a second store right next
door. As a designer, her ideas are quite popular so
she has decided to expand with her second store
focusing more on 'archaeological' themes. This store
will be called Magpies. |
